In 2010, I graduated from the University of Denver (DU) and Iliff School of Theology with a doctorate in Religious Studies with a focus in spiritual psychology. My dissertation is focused on the spiritual care of those who identify as spiritual but not religious and how their spiritual values, beliefs, and practices impact mental health. In 2001, I graduated from the University of Colorado Denver with a Masters in Counseling Psychology, focus in marriage and family therapy. I am a co-author of the book Animal-assisted Brief Therapy: A Solution-Focused Approach, which centers on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. I have been serving clients in Colorado and around the globe for over 25 years with a motivational, humorous, inspirational, and solution-focused approach. I am honored to have provided training and counseling to our U.S. Military members and families as a Military Family Life Counselor with the Department of Defense beginning in January 2009. I am proud to have served as the President of the Colorado Counseling Association in 2015-16.
As a published author on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), I use my extensive experience and skills to help you discover and take action toward living your own solutions. My years of experience and training in many areas of counseling have provided me with a wide variety of tools to help you find your path to meaning, connection, and happiness. My practice is rooted in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, which approaches counseling from the perspective that it’s more important to analyze solutions than to focus on problems. I use this solution-focused approach with groups and organizations as well, as we explore what is working and what they want more of. I have presented on numerous topics at the annual Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Association’s international conferences and love offering trainings, workshops, and presentations that help teams and individuals become their best.
